■ 制品说明
根癌农杆菌 (Rhizobium radiobactor) 可转化自身Ti质粒的T-DNA (transfer DNA) 进入宿主植物细胞，并将此DNA插入植物染色体DNA。T-DNA上的插入基因表达后，转入到被称为Crown gall的肿瘤细胞。利用这种基因转化机制，发明了用于植物转化的binary vector method。这种体系中，Ti质粒中T-DNA上的致病基因被选择性标记基因和外源目的基因所取代，通过农杆菌介导的基因转移将目的基因引入到植物染色体DNA中。
Agrobacterium tumefaciens strain LBA4404以及binary vector method首先在荷兰的Leiden University被Dr. P. J. J. Hooykaas发现。Agrobacterium tumefaciens含有pAL4404质粒，其只含有T-DNA vir区域 (vir基因诱导和T-DNA转移)，是一种广泛用于植物细胞转化实验的菌株。
本制品是电转化的感受态细胞。使用A. tumefaciens和binary vector method，可以进行各种植物细胞的感染 (转染) 实验。
 
■ 保存
-80℃。
注意：-80℃保存。如果保存温度不恒定，转化效率将会降低。可使用附带的pRI 900 DNA 确定细胞的转化效率。不能液氮保存。
 
■ 质量标准
根据使用方法，转入1 ng pRI 900 DNA，涂于含有卡那霉素和链霉素的平板上进行筛选。
转化效率 : >5×106 colonies/μg pRI 900 DNA
